Arthur William (Art) Underdown

Arthur William (Art) was born in Glendale, Calif., on Nov. 3, 1933, to Mary Wilhelmina Jurecic and Arthur John Underdown.

He graduated from Clarmont Men's College in 1955 with a degree in Accounting, and earned a Master's Degree in-Executive Business Mangement in 1974.

He married Joyce Sims on June 24 1955 in Glendale, Calif. and six months later, served as a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry at Ft. Benning, Ga., and later Fort Ord, Calif.

He held various senior management positions with international transportation companies for the next 30 years. He started his own international shipping business in 1985 and sold it after three years His business travels took him throughout the Far East, Australia, Europe and the United States. He and his wife started their own business in 1994 selling collectibles.

Art and his wife semi-retired to Prescott in 2000, where they pursued mutual interests in genealogy, bridge, traveling, and their collectible
business.

Art was a member of the Genealogy Club, the Stamp Club, the Adult Center and the learning Institute.

Art is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce; his much loved daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Dean Silveriock of Santa Rosa, Calif., Amy and Martin Ascencio of Littleton, Colo., and Allison and Keith Graves of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; one grandson, Troy; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nancy and Ray Hartmann of Camarillo, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

A Commemoration service, in honor of Art, will be held at the Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley on Saturday, Feb. 5th, at 1 p.m.

The family was cared for by Sunrise Funeral Home and Crematory of Prescott Valley, Ariz.
