Jack Faris Reid, age 83, died April 15, 2004, at Margaret T. Morris Center in Prescott, Ariz. He was born Sept. 10, 1920, in Carrollton, Mo., to John J. and Genta F. Reid.

Mr. Reid moved to Chino Valley from California in the early '80s. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII; for the military police, in Alaska. He loved his time spent working on the Southern Pacific Railroad and as a truck driver.

He was no stranger to hard work, as he spent the first 17 years of his life on the family farm in Carrollton. Jack had many fond memories of all his adventures and he loved life.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mildred Reid of Prescott; his daughter, Cecilia Bonnewell of Chino Valley; his two brothers, Gene and Gale Reid of California; his three grandchildren, Bill Bonnewell of Prescott Valley, Bob Bonnewell of Prescott, and Karena Cope of Chino Valley; and two great-grandchildren, Krystal and Madison Bonnewell.

Cremation was at Heritage Funeral Chapel in Prescott. He wished his final resting place to be at Redwood Memorial Gardens in Dewey, Ariz.
