Jimmy Taylor Claxton

Jimmy Taylor Claxton, age 75, died April 15, 2004, in Dewey, Ariz. He was born March 22, 1929, in Tulsa, Okla., to James and Jessie (Gunter) Claxton.

Jimmy worked as a supervisor for Anheuser-Busch Company in California for many years, retiring in 1989.

Jimmy proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing card games. Jimmy was a member of the Masonic Fraternity and American Legion.

Jimmy's family says he had a big heart, and was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

Jimmy is survived by his daughters, Karen Claxton of Paso Robles, Calif., Judy Knoedler of Atascadero, Calif., and Jaymi Wilkes of Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia; his brother, Charles Claxton of Houston, Texas; his sister, Nell Brewer of Prescott; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, lona Claxton, who died in 1998.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 23, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley.

The funeral service will be Saturday, April 24, at 10 a.m., also at Sunrise Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Hail officiating.

Sunrise Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
