Margaret Georgia (Peggy) (Ray) Risch

Margaret (Peggy) Georgia Ray Risch, 89, of Phoenix, Ariz. passed away Friday, January 26, 2007. She was born February 22, 1918, in Paris, Texas, and moved with her family to the Phoenix area in 1928.

Her parents John and Maggie Ray, husband Homer Martin Risch, and 6 sisters, preceded her in death.

Peggy was a homemaker, a childcare provider, and enjoyed writing poetry, receiving a Golden Poet Award in 1987.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, including her 3 children; Norma Lee Himes, Melvin Lloyd Risch (Norma), and Thomas Eugene Risch (Carol); 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Samaritan Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, February 3, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the home of her son, located at 11007 East Vecino Street, Chandler, Arizona, 85248.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Hospice of Arizona, 2222 West Northern Avenue, Suite A-100, Phoenix, Arizona 85021.
