Donald (Doc) Roberts, 68, of Camp Verde Arizona, died on Wednesday, December 26th, 2001. He was born May 8, 1933, to Grover W. and Ethel Roberts, in a ranch home in Lyons, Colorado.

The family then moved to Mead, Colorado, where he attended elementary through high school before attending Colorado University for Veterinarian Medical School. He then spent time on a ranch in Bumble Bee, Arizona, and was then drafted into the army for 2 years. Doc graduated from C.S.U. in 1961. He started a vet practice in Hugoton, Kansas.

He then moved to Phoenix, where he continued to practice at Turf Paradise. In 1972, he moved his family to Camp Verde, Arizona, and purchased a working cattle ranch. His high standards and quality conscious achieved the National Range Management award in 1994 from the Forest Service.

During the summers, he continued his veterinarian career at race tracks in Raton, New Mexico, and Prescott, Arizona. He also served as an elder at the First Christian Church. Finally, he opened a well-respected equine specially practice in Camp Verde.

Above all, he was a cherished and beloved husband of 47 years to Dorothy Roberts, a father to Brian, Dawn, Holly, and Scott, and a grandfather to 8 children. He is also survived by 2 brothers and 1 sister, along with many friends. He will be missed by all, but the difference he has made and knowledge he has shared will live on for many generations to come.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2001, at the Pugh residence, 203 W. Grippen Rd., Camp Verde, Arizona.
