Karen Linda Bessinger, 72, passed away in Show Low on Sunday, June 26, 2011.
Karen was born in Spokane, Washington to Donald & Lillian Peck on August 30, 1938 . She has since spent time living in Fairbanks, Alaska, as well as Taylor, Apache Junction, & Show Low, AZ.
Karen was a very active member of the Episcopal Church and enjoyed serving the church in various capacities. She also enjoyed spending her time knitting, crocheting, spinning, weaving, quilting, sewing, reading, doing ceramics, stained glass and playing music, which included playing the organ, and she was also a teacher.
On October 11, 1958, Karen married Richard Bessinger in Spokane, WA and they have been married now for 52 plus years. Karen and Richard were blessed with one son, Gene Richard Bessinger of Show Low, and one daughter, Vicki E. Bessinger of Holbrook. She has also been blessed to have 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Richard, her two children, three grand children, four great-grandchildren, as well as by her brother, Myron Peck, of Spokane, WA.
Upon the death of her father, Donald Peck, her mother married Frank Crook, who was a large part of her life, and they both preceded her in death as well.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Karen on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 4:00 pm at The Church of our Savior, 5147 Show Low Lake Rd. Lakeside, AZ 85929.
