Gertrude (Gertie) (Seibert) Liddle

Gertrude (Gertie) Liddle passed away peacefully, December 13, 2010 at her daughter's home in Prescott, Arizona at the age of 89.

Gertie was born in Wabash County Illinois on October 17, 1921 to Ernest J. and Elsie Elora Seibert. Gertie was a long time member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran church in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, which her family was instrumental in organizing.

She married James (Jim) D. Liddle on February 23, 1941 and they raised two daughters Frances A. (married to Walter) Spawr and Martha L. (married to Michael) Purcell. She worked in the Wabash County Clerk's office during the tenure of Jim's terms as County Clerk.

Gertie was a dedicated and loving family member. She cherished family celebrations and activities. She was always there to help family member and friends when they were in need.

Gertie is survived by her two daughters; 5 grandchildren, Rebecca, Darryl, Dawn, Dena and Tina; 11 great grandchildren, Amber, Christopher, Alexandra, Kendra, Lauren, Scott, Brittany, Zachary, Lucas, Dane, and Hannah; and one great-great grandson, Dayton.

She is also survived by sister-in-law Irene Seibert and Las Cruces, New Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ivan Seibert, Clifton(Bud) Seibert, Eugene Seibert, sisters Caroline Black, Mary Frances Seibert, Elora Johnson, sister-in-laws Raydell Seibert, Leila Seibert and brother-in-laws Pete Black, George Johnson and nephew Michael Seibert.

A memorial graveside service will take place at Friendsville Cemetery, Friendsville, Illinois at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gertrude's name to Granite Mountain Home Care and hospice, 3107 Clearwater, Prescott, AZ 86305 or to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 703 Market Street, Mount Carmel, Illinois 62863.
