| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, October 4, 2006 Katie Marie Richards, 78, of Glendale, Arizona on Tuesday, September 26, 2006. Kate was born in Blanket, Texas on November 27, 1927 to Jud and Edith Porter. She graduated from Jerome High School in 1946, and married Ernie Richards January 18, 1948 in Camp Verde, Arizona. Ernie preceded her in death in January 1997. She was in the process of writing a book about her life, titled, "I Married a Cowboy". Kate is survived by her son, Ron Richards with his wife Beverly of Glendale, Arizona; her daughter, Karen Zinser and her husband Russ of Encinitas, California; her brother, Jud Porter with his wife Mary of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren, Kevin, Brandon and Karie; plus two great-grandchildren, Makayla and Aidan. Graveside services are to be held at 11:00am on October 6, 2006 at the Clear Creek Cemetery in Camp Verde, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, contributions will be accepted at the Clear Creek Cemetery, c/o Audry Parker, P.O. Box 622, Camp Verde, Arizona 86322. See Also: Find A Grave |
