Betty Jean Lightfoot

Betty Jean Lightfoot, was born August 29, 1954 in Yuma, Arizona, to the late T.C. and Theresa Lightfoot.

She attended Yuma City schools from elementary through the twelfth grade, graduating from Yuma High School in 1973. Betty Jean attended Arizona Western College and later NAU, Phoenix campus whereby she received an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education.

She found and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in 2002.

Betty Jean began her employment with Yuma Head Start in the mid 1970's and continued her career as a Head Start teacher when she later moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Betty Jean devoted 27 years of her life to preparing young children for the future. She loved all of her Head Start kids.

On Friday, January 11, 2002 the Lord beckoned Betty Jean home to her eternal resting place.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving son, Daryl Lightfoot, her husband, C.J. Patetta, both of Phoenix, Arizona two sisters, Suzanne Woodard, Columbia, South Carolina and Yvonne Daniels of San Diego, California two brothers, Marvin Lightfoot also of Columbia, South Carolina and Kevin Lightfoot of Phoenix, Arizona, one brother-in-law, Harrison Woodard, and one sister-in-law, Marie Lightfoot, both of Columbia, South Carolina. Also to mourn her passing is one niece, Annette Jones one nephew, Harrison Woodard, Jr., both of Columbia, South Carolina and one granddaughter, Leilani Lightfoot, of Phoenix, Arizona.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 18, at Gortarez Funeral Home 1505 E. McDowell Rd. from 5-8 p.m.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 19, at 1:00PM at Higher Heights Church of God in Christ located at 97 W. Oakland St., Chandler, Ariz.
