Gayle Holeyfield, Camp Verde, Ariz. (Shreveport, LA).

A celebration of the life of Gayle Holeyfield will be held Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Reverend Bill Stowell will officiate. Entombment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Holeyfield was born October 17, 1936 in Shreveport, La. to Louis and Mary Louise Jackson. She passed away May 17, 2008 in Camp Verde, Ariz.

As a long time resident of Shreveport and Keithville, Mrs. Holeyfield was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Shreveport. She and her family were active in the ministries of the church.

Mrs. Holeyfield moved to Arizona in 1974. She cared for over 100 babies in her home based nursery for a period of time spanning over 20 years while living in Arizona.

Mrs. Holeyfield was preceded in death by her father, Louis E. Jackson and her husband, Bobby Gene Holeyfield. Her survivors include her mother, Mary Lou Jackson; sons, Jeffrey Holeyfield, Roy Holeyfield, Barry Holeyfield, Danny Holeyfield, and daughter, Cynthia Vukusich; thirteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
