Louise Helen (Brum) Gray, 87, a long-time resident of Cottonwood, Arizona passed away on October 17, 2003 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Born in Bakersfield, California September 17, 1916, Louise was one of eleven children born to Manuel Brum and Margaret Silva Brum Newcomb.

She married James Gray on April 8, 1938. After living in California and Arizona, the Grays settled in the Cottonwood area of the Verde Valley in 1959.

Louise was trained as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked in the obstetrical units of hospitals in San Bernardino, California and Cottonwood, Arizona.

After moving to Cottonwood, Louise obtained her real estate sales license and with her husband established Gray Realty. The Grays retired in 1979.

Besides her husband, Louise is survived by five daughters, Lorayne Barton, Glendale, California Norma Limp, Sparks, Nevada Sue Ann Kirst, Newport Beach, California Marilyn Gradowski, Scottsdale, Arizona and Monica Hart, Glendale, Arizona. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Brent Barton, San Bernardino, California, Dean Barton, Loma Linda California Barry Barton, Pasadena, California Specialist David Barton, Seoul, South Korea Matthew and Kevin Gradowski, Phoenix, Arizona James Kirst III, Lugano, Switzerland, and Jennifer Kirst Craycraft, Newport Beach, California a brother Frank Brum, Roseburg, Oregon and sisters Barbara Negrete, Mission Hills, California Frances Mendez, Burney, California and Dena Patrick, Bakersfield, California.

Funeral Services will be held at the Paradise Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2727 E. Cactus Road, Phoenix, Arizona on October 26, 2003 at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea Boulevard, Scottsdale, Arizona 85260.
