Rudolph F. Leyva, beloved father, died peacefully at his daughter's home in Prescott Valley on Nov. 23, 2008. He was born Feb. 17, 1939, in Prescott, the son of Manuel and Aurora (Garcia) Leyva.

Rudy had put new roofs on many local buildings in his 39 years in the industry. He particularly enjoyed that his family worked with him. He liked playing the lottery, his iPod, and sitting outside, but his passion was family get-togethers - especially when he could dance all night. He was proudest of his family and friends.

Rudy proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Sacred Heart Church all his life.

Rudy is survived by his children, Linda (Alfred) Martinez, Crystal (Guillermo) Salcido, Rudina (Jose) Leyva, Annette (Ruben) Poblano, Rosemary (Mark) Garcia, Brenda (Fabian) Aguirre, Rudy Leyva, Jesus (Emila) Leyva, and Tina Leyva; two brothers; one sister; 23 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary, March 31, 2008.

Rosary service will be 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home with visitation 2 hours prior.

A Celebration of Rudy's Life Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury, Prescott, Ariz.
