Bernice Mary Walsh Chambers, 94, died Nov. 23, 2008, in Prescott, Ariz.

She was born Oct. 3, 1914, in Wheaton, Kan., to Michael Walsh and Margaret (Moran) Walsh.

Bernice was a seamstress. She made curtains and was active in the Dress a Child program in Prescott. She enjoyed providing childcare and making quilts for her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing bingo with her friends.

She is survived by son Michael and daughter-in-law Mary Chambers of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter Mary and son-in-law Izy Byrd of Prescott; grandchildren Michael Chambers, Jennifer Chambers, Christopher Chambers, Matthew Smith and Andrew Smith; two great-grandchildren, Rebekah and Isaac; and cousin Gertrude "Trudi" Anderson.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 4, 2008, at Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez Street, Prescott. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 N. Fleury Ave., Prescott, Arizona.

Committal service will follow immediately at Redwood Memorial Gardens in Dewey, Ariz.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Hampton Funeral Home.
