Elizabeth A. Dillon, 73, resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2007. She was born August 26, 1933 to Thomas and Wilma (Ware) Dillon in Phoenix, where she grew up and graduated from North Phoenix High School.

Elizabeth then attended Arizona State College (now Northern Arizona University), where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in 1956. She later completed Master's Degrees in Fine Arts at NAU (1975) and in Spanish at the University of Arizona (1982). During her career as a schoolteacher, Elizabeth taught subjects including Art and Spanish in Flagstaff; Phoenix; Cabool, Missouri; and Cottonwood. Outside the classroom she spent many hours producing works of art. Several of her paintings and drawings were included in gallery shows around the state over the years.

She is preceded in death by her brother, John M. Dillon. She leaves behind her son, Charles T. Eckman of Glendale; her daughter, Kathryn D. Horvath of Tucson; her brother, Joseph L. Dillon of Phoenix; her sister, Patricia J. Dillon of Cottonwood; as well as four grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held in honor of Elizabeth's life on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 11:00am at Westcott Funeral Home.
