| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, November 26, 2008 William Hix Cherry Jr., 73, of Prescott, Ariz., born Sept. 13, 1935, in Albemarle, N.C., passed away Nov. 25, 2008, at Hospice Family Care in Prescott, Ariz. No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in William's name may be made to UNICEF, 3 United Nations Plaza, New York, NY 10017. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. ------------------------------------ William Hix Cherry Jr. 9/13/1935 - 11/25/2008 William Hix Cherry Jr. died on November 25, 2008 at The Crossing, Hospice Family Care in Prescott, Arizona. He was 73 years old. Bill was born September 13, 1935 in Albemarle, North Carolina the son of William Hix Sr. & Julia Wyche (Allen) Cherry. He is preceded in death by his son Charles Allen Cherry who died April 2007. Bill worked in the Aerospace Industry as an Engineer before retiring. He lived in Arizona for the last 10 years and previously in New Jersey. He was a member of BSEE and graduated from Duke University in 1957. He enjoyed learning and researching alternative environmental energy sources and sailing. He is survived by son, Robert Penn & wife Alice Cherry of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; sister, Pamela Lee of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; grandchildren, Krista, Robby & Kaitlin.
