Stanley Clay (Stan) Taylor

Stanley Clay Taylor (Stan), 55 years old, of Cottonwood, Arizona, died September 13, 2003 in a motorcycle accident.

He was a native Arizonan whose family first settled in Arizona in 1910. He grew up in Chandler and graduated from Chandler High School.

He was a chef, working at resorts in Sedona and Verde Valley Medical Center. At the time of his death, he was disabled and awaiting a liver transplant. Stan loved his family and friends, camping, bow hunting, fishing, playing his guitar and riding his Harley.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Dusty his son, Cody Taylor of Cottonwood, stepchildren: Jon (Connie) Mills of Tempe, Ariz., and Dawn Barton of Pennsylvania, brothers: Tom (Leona) Taylor of Iowa, Allen Taylor of Camp Verde, Ariz., David (Pat) Taylor of Tonto Basin, Ariz. and David Springer of Phoenix, sisters: Jean Bridges of Tucson, Ariz., Marilyn (Don) Felix and Carolyn (Jim) Shelly of Chandler, Ariz. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Catherine and Ben Barton of Cottonwood, Peytin and Parker Mills of Tempe, Ariz., and former son-in-law, Bob Barton of Cottonwood, Uncle and Aunt John (Helen) Taylor of Prescott, Ariz., and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harness Taylor and Esta Taylor Anderson of Chandler.

A memorial service will be held October 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in Clarkdale Town Park, Clarkdale, Arizona, with a luncheon following.

A celebration of his life and scattering of ashes will take place October 5, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. on Mingus Mountain.
