Larry LaVerne Copeland, Sr., 61 of Wheatfields, Ariz. passed away Aug. 2 in Queen Creek, Ariz. surrounded by family. Larry was born July 17, 1950 in Wahpeton, N.D. to Lorraine and LaVerne Copeland, the oldest of seven children. He graduated from Chosen Valley High School in Chatfield, Minn. in 1968. He attended a vocational school in Jackson, Minn. to become a journeyman lineman.

He moved his family to Arizona in 1987, but always considered North Dakota home. In Arizona he worked as a truck driver and supervisor of a crushing company until 1998 when he became disabled. Larry was a loving husband, devoted father and an amazing grandfather. He worked hard and played hard. He was a jack of all trades, who loved Nascar, motorcycles, the Minnesota Vikings, fishing, hunting, camping, riding snowmobiles, going to the lake, horseback riding, country music, bull riding and spending time with family.

Larry leaves behind in loving memory Dawn Copeland-Yates; his children, Michael Prigge (Leslie), Larry Copeland, Jr. (Tessie), Loren Copeland (LaDawn), Michele Knowlton (Mark), David Copeland (Ellen), Danielle Gardner (Jason), Mandrielle Schelble (Gregory), as well as 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
