Harolyn Moore Scholey, 75, passed away on May 20, 2007. Lynn was born in Phoenix on April 13, 1932 to Harold and Marie Moore.

At the age of ten, the family moved to Prescott, Arizona. Lynn was an only child and had a normal growing young lady's life, graduating from Prescott Senior High School in 1950. She enrolled in the University of Arizona earning a teaching degree in 1954.

After graduating, she married George A. Scholey, a newly graduated mining engineer (1953). Her new husband was currently a draftee in the U.S. Army. After his service ended, the pair settled in Globe, Arizona, where he worked at Miami Copper till November, 1957. Their first daughter, Cynthia, was born in Miami, Arizona.

The family then moved to the Philippines to work in a series of new and challenging copper mining ventures. Lynn lived in the Philippines 25 years. Those years were some of their most enjoyable years, involving travels throughout South East Asia and Japan. Their second daughter, Catherine, was born and raised in Manila.

In 1980, the Philippine mining group broke up. In 1982 Lynn and her husband made the decision to return to Tucson, Arizona, and take up mineral exploration in the Western States with a small prospecting firm. After several years of this in which Lynn served as a travel - trailer - homemaker and companion, her husband hung up his hat and retired in 1996.

During all this time, Lynn and George maintained a home in Northwest Tucson as a base. Lynn had a tremendous zest for life with her family, friends, and homes, both in Manila and in Tucson. Her second love was the extensive travels they made in the U.S., Western Europe and Asia.

Her passions here in Tucson were her volunteer work with the Arizona Historical Society, playing bridge with some of her closest friends, cooking and gardening.

Lynn was preceded in death by both parents. She is survived by her husband of 53 years; her two daughters, Cindy Goodrich and Cathy Campbell; and two grandsons, Sean Campbell and Scott Goodrich.

There will be no funeral services as her remains will be interred in the Moore family plot in Prescott.

She will be greatly missed.

Arrangements by Desert Rose Cremation & Burial.
