Matthew Kimball Showers, 15, went to run with Jesus on Monday, April 11, 2005.

Born in Cottonwood, Arizona on November 21, 1989, Matthew used his 15 short years to shine the light and love of Jesus on all who knew him.

Matthew was a member of the First Baptist Church of Camp Verde and was involved in Youth Ministries there, as well as Fellowship of Christian Teens at Camp Verde High School.

Matthew was an exceptional athlete, lettering his freshman year as part of the State Champion Camp Verde Boys Soccer Team and breaking the school record in high jump on the Camp Verde Track and Field Team.

Matt loved Christian music, concerts, mini-coopers and his family and friends. Matt was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Matthew is survived by his Mom and Dad, Mark and Lori Showers, his two sisters, Amy and Amanda Showers, his grandparents, Tom and Jan Malloy and Ralph and Marilyn Showers, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved and cherished him.

Services for Matthew will be on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at Verde Baptist Church in Cottonwood, Arizona, with a public viewing from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a graveside service for the family following.

The family would like to invite everyone to a reception at the Camp Verde Schools Multi Use Complex Cafeteria at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Camp Verde Education Foundation c/o Montie Morris, 410 Camp Lincoln, Camp Verde, Ariz.,86322.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood, Arizona
