| The Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Tuesday, November 25, 2008 Helen J. Byrd, 91, of Cottonwood, Ariz., died Nov. 22, 2008. She was born Dec. 29, 1916, in Rush Creek, Ark., the daughter of Lon and Sarah (Reading) Setzer. For 60 years she was married to the late John W. "Jack" Byrd. She was a member of Verde Valley Christian Church. Mrs. Byrd leaves two daughters, Doris Ragan (Bobby) of Cottonwood and Joyce Cook (Jim) of Cornville, Ariz.; a brother O.D. Setzer of Montana; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service took place Tuesday, Nov. 25, in the Verde Valley Christian Church. Donations in her memory may be made to the Verde Valley Christian Church, 3605 Zalesky Road, Cottonwood, Ariz., 86326 or to the Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood Ariz., 86326. |
