| The Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Saturday, November 15, 2008 Helma Anna Rohloff, 87, of Page Springs, Ariz., died Nov. 9, 2008. She was born on Dec. 18, 1920, to Mary and John Steines. She was one of nine children that grew up on the family farm. Helma met her husband Bill Rohloff in 1939 and they were married on July 21, 1942. They celebrated their 66th anniversary this past July. Helma attended beauty school after graduating from high school and worked as a beautician until moving to Calamus, Iowa, where she and Bill started a small family restaurant. In 1966, they moved to Phoenix, where she managed a Mary Moppitts Day Care Center. In 1974, Helma and Bill moved to Page Springs and purchased Page Springs Store. They established the Page Springs Bar and Restaurant, where they worked until retiring in 1987. During retirement Helma and Bill loved to travel in their motorhome, especially to see family and friends. She also enjoyed oil painting, gardening and baking. Cookies were her specialty, which delighted all those who were lucky enough to receive them. Helma was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed. Helma is survived by her husband Bill of Page Springs; daughter Joan (Bill) Wren of Cathlamet, Wash.; son Bill (Linda) Rohloff of Lowden, Iowa; son Dennis (Carolyn) Rohloff of Conroe, Texas; son Dan (Brenda) Rohloff of Page Springs; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two brothers, one sister and a large extended family. A memorial service will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cottonwood, on Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. There will be a reception following.
