The Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Saturday, November 15, 2008 Anthony Clark died Nov 10, 2008, at the age of 58. Born in Phoenix, he lived in Cottonwood, Ariz. since the 1980s and worked most of that time as a general contractor building homes. Prior to that he worked as a hairdresser in Phoenix and Sedona, where he owned the salon Applause. He enjoyed working as a stylist for celebrities, but his proudest achievement was breaking the Guinness World Record cutting hair for more than 12 days straight and in the process raising $30,000 for the Special Olympics. Tony enjoyed shooting pool, water sports, and in his wilder days parachuting, parasailing, and partying. But even more than those activities, he greatly enjoyed helping people and was always generous with his time, his resources and his energies. He organized and contributed support to any number of fund-raisers and benefits to help friends and acquaintances in Cottonwood. He is survived by his devoted partner of 14 years Chanelle; his sister Rose, and his brother James; and extended family. A memorial celebration will be Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. at his home, followed by a potluck dinner. In lieu of flowers, friends are offering donations to help offset funeral expenses. |
