Doris L. Self

Former Verde Valley resident Doris Lavern Self, 73, of Prescott, died Feb. 7, 2007, in Pine Bluff, Ark. She was born May 8, 1933, in Soper, Okla.

She lived in the Verde Valley for 30 years.

Survivors include five sons, Doug Toland and Terry Toland both of Hot Springs, Ark.; Joey Self and Tim Self, both of Phoenix; and Enoch Self, of Dewey; two daughters, Darlene Toland Worthen of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Diane Self Fleming, of Prescott Valley; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services are Saturday, March 10, at 11 a.m. in Mountain View Cemetery, 1051 Willow Creek Road, Prescott.

Doris Lavern Self, 73, formerly of Page, died peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at her daughter's home in Pine Bluff, Ark. She was born on May 8, 1933, in Soper, Okla., the daughter of Jodie and Alma Partin.

Survivors include five sons: Enoch Self of Dewey, Ariz., Doug Toland of Hot Springs, Ark., Terry Toland of Hot Springs, Joey Self of Phoenix, and Tim Self of Phoenix; two daughters: Darlene Worthen of Pine Bluff and Diane Fleming of Prescott, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters: Delphina Glenn and Melinda Self; two brothers: Robert Partin and Junior Partin; and grandchild Erica Fleming.

Doris was a friend to many in the Page area, always making her home at Canyon Lake Apartments a welcome place to friends and family. She was known for her generous spirit and willingness to help those in need. Her honest sense of humor and caring attitude will be remembered and missed by many.

A memorial service will be held in the near future in Prescott, where she spent many years with her family. Arrangements made by Roselawn Funeral Services of Pine Bluff.
