Delmer Marsolek, 82, died at his home in Cottonwood, Ariz. on Aug. 26, 2008. He was born Oct. 29, 1925, in Royalton, Minn. to Martin and Anna (Fautsch) Marsolek.

Delmer attended grade school and high school in Royalton.

After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy. Following his military service he attended several colleges, graduating from University of Minnesota with a degree in Forestry. He spent his entire Forest Service career in various locations in the state of Idaho, where he loved to hunt and fish and also enjoyed golfing.


Following retirement in 1980 he and his wife enjoyed traveling to many places and especially enjoyed trips to Mexico. They moved to Cottonwood in 1985.

Delmer is survived by his wife of 37 years, Phyllis; his children, Steve Marsolek (Marcia) of Boise, Idaho, Patricia Allen of Waconia, Minn., Carolyn Hiepler (Roy) of Madison, Minn., Larry Marsolek (Sue) of Ortonville, Minn., Joyce Morreim (Les) of Arlington, Minn., Valerie Seeley (Shane Peterson) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Julie Huntsman (Merrill) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Kirk Thomson (Marlene) of Gulfport, Miss.; his sisters, Sally Kay (Flo) of Fountain Valley, Calif., Irene Cameron (Don) of Bradley, Calif., and Jeanette Andersen of Blaine, Minn.; and many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the VFW Post in Cottonwood.

No services are planned. Memorial donations may be made in Delmer's name to Old Town Mission, 116 E. Pinal St., Cottonwood Ariz., 86326, or RTA Hospice, 70 Bell Rock Plaza Sedona Ariz., 86351.

Bueler Funeral Home assisted the family.
