Herbert F. (Herb) Harbeson

Herb Harbeson passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital, he was 79.

Herb was born Nov. 11, 1923 in Prescott, Arizona, son of Woodford Fay and Mary Gwendolyn (Matli) Harbison, where he was raised.

He was a WWII veteran serving four years in the US Navy. After his military service he settled in San Francisco, Calif., working for Budweiser Distributing Company. He moved to Carson City, Nev. in 1961 and owned and operated Capital Beverages. Herb sold the business in 1971.

He was an avid golfer. Herb was a 50 year member of the Elks Club, and member of Eagle Valley Golf Course. Herb was the "Nevada Day" Parade announcer for the past 10 years.

Herb is survived by his wife, Doris Harbeson of Carson City, Nev. They were married 31 years.

A daughter, Terry Lowry of Carson City, NV a son, Bill Pearce of Reno, Nev. one sister, Mary Lee Aduddell of San Diego, Calif. He has 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be Friday, February 28, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City, Nev.

Burial will follow at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City, Nev.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Herb's honor to Eagle Valley Golf Course Tree Program, 3999 Centennial Park Dr., Carson City, Nev., 89706.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of final arrangements.
