Donald Chester (Don) Harker

Don Harker, died June 8, 2001 in Prescott, Arizona. He was born in Boone, Iowa, December 9, 1921. Arizona has been his home for 57 years.

His career was in banking and finance. He was one who loved his profession, retiring as Sr. Vice President of Continental Bank.

Don especially enjoyed his family, wife, Beverly, son, Larry and daughters, Gretchen and Janine.

His passions were buying automobiles, at least one every few years, the boat at Lake Powell and traveling with his son, Larry, and his brother-in-law Oliver Stallings.

He was active in the Prescott United Methodist Church, Meals-On-Wheels and Prescott People Who Care. Mystery thrillers were his favorite reading. Friends, many of long standing were loved.

Don and Beverly have an extended family, a son-in-law, daughter-in-law, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two great nieces and two nephews. Don's special friend and buddy, Wrinkie gave him many hours of pleasure and companionship.

Don was a good friend, a loving and generous father and husband.

A service to celebrate the life of Don Harker is set for 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2001 at Prescott United Methodist church in Prescott.
