Phillip Fred Dorn, 83, of Dewey, Ariz., died Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at the Acts of Kindness Care Home in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Phillip was born Feb. 1, 1925, in Pasadena, Calif., to Albert and Emma Dorn.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army in October of 1943. He entered the service at Fort McArthur, Calif., and served in the South Pacific during WWII. He was discharged in 1947.

He attended Cal Poly College in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

Phillip was an aeronautical engineer and worked 32 years in the aerospace industry. He retired from Rockwell International in El Segundo, Calif., in 1985 and moved to Arizona.

He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed reading and listening to music.

Phillip was preceded in death by both parents and daughter Deborah.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Annella Mae Dorn; and children Michael A. (Anne) Dorn, Douglas M. Dorn and Loreli Panico.

A funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at the Saint Germaine Catholic Church, 7997 E. Dana Drive, Prescott Valley, Ariz.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to the Prescott Valley Library in Phillip's name.
