AMERICAN FORK -- Beth Elena Hendricks Passey, 79, died December 15, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born April 23, 1912 in Richmond, Utah to L.F. and Elizabeth Elena Webb Hendricks. She married Howard Budge Passey March 17, 1937 in the Logan LDS Temple; he died in 1983. She attended schools in Richmond and graduated from North Cache High School. Graduate of Utah State University where she played on the women's basketball team, a Spur. and the V.P. of the Junior Democrats of Utah. She taught school at Bryant Jr. High in Salt Lake and various schools in Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. She also worked part time as a correspondent for the Deseret News and Summit County Bee. She was an active member of the LDS Church, having held many leadership and teaching positions. She started the first early morning LDS Seminary in Prescott, Arizona. She loved all sports and was an avid bowler until two years ago.

Survived by four children: Mrs. Ron (Kaye) Smith, Lehi; E.J. and his wife Pamela, Salt Lake City; Howard and his wife Laurelee, Highland; Bill and his wife Pat, Sandy; 29 grandchildren, one great grandchild; a sister, Grace Hermansen; two brothers, Alton and Lavon Hendricks. Preceded in death by a sister, Gladys, daughter-in-law, Pamela Jo, and a granddaughter, JoLyn.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, 12 noon, in the American Fork 12th Ward Chapel, 673 East 300 North. Friends may call at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Tuesday 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Wednesday at the Church from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Burial, American Fork Cemetery.
