Sara Molina VanDomelen, 91, of Hancock, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at Cypress Manor Nursing Home in Hancock.

She was born in 1917, in Santiago, Cuba, and graduated from Kalamazoo College as a foreign scholarship student. Sara taught kindergarten and first grade for 20 years in the Washington, D.C. area, and was instrumental in the development of the Sesame Street TV show. Her accepting, wise, gentle, loving heart and humorous nature endeared her to all.

Sara was preceded in death by 10 weeks by her husband of 67 years, "Van."

She is survived by son John (Naomi) of Prescott, Ariz.; daughter Christine of Hancock; grandson Andrew (Theresa); great-grandson Jeff, both of Prescott, Ariz.; numerous nieces and nephews.

At Sara's request, there will be no public visitation or service at this time.
