Mary P. (Pasqualone) Harrington

Mary P. Harrington of Scottsdale, Ariz. entered eternal peace and happiness on February 5, 2006. Born in Calumet, Michigan to Battista and Maria Pasqualone on November 15, 1919, Mary grew up with two sisters, Madeline and Lucy.

After high school, she attended Northern State Teachers College and then moved with her family to Jerome, Arizona, where Mary met her future beloved husband, Henry William Harrington.

Mary and Henry were married on June 28, 1942 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jerome, by which time Mary had graduated from Arizona State Teachers College and was teaching in nearby Clarkdale. Ultimately, Mary obtained a Master's Degree in Home Economics from Arizona State University and greatly enjoyed sharing her love of child development, cooking, and sewing with students at various schools within the Scottsdale Unified School District from 1964 until her retirement in 1988.

Mary and Henry had four children, Mary Kay, Joan, Neil, and Kevi. Strong and energetic, Mary thoroughly enjoyed and deeply loved her family.

She was a valued member of St. Theresa's Catholic Parish, where she served as a Eucharistic and pastoral care minister. She was an avid bridge player, an excellent cook, and a superb seamstress.

Mary is survived by her sister Lucy Dolk of Phoenix, daughter Joan Ruskus and son-in-law David Roessner of Prescott, son Neil Harrington and daughter-in-law Joanne of Phoenix, daughter Kevi Harrington of Scottsdale, granddaughter Geniveve Ruskus and her husband Derek Mulkey, grandson Joe Harrington, granddaughter Katie Harrington, and great-grandson, Sam Henry Mulkey.

Her life will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 8th, with Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. at Whitney Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 East Indian School Road. T

he Funeral Mass will be at St. Theresa Catholic Church located at 5045 East Thomas in Phoenix on Thursday, February 9th at 10:00 A.M. The burial to follow at St. Francis Cemetery.

The family suggests donations to Alzheimer's Research c/o Sun Health Research Institute, 10551 West Santa Fe Drive, Sun City, Arizona, 85351.
