| Billy F. Groves, 69, of Florence died Oct. 2, 2006 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Simes Mortuaries Florence Chapel. The funeral there will be at 11 a.m. Friday, with Brother Keith Wilkerson officiating. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park at Coolidge. Mr. Groves was born Dec. 14, 1936 in Terral, Okla., to Melton F. and Jewel A. (Hill) Groves. He served in the Army and was a member of American Legion Post 9 in Florence. He retired after 25 years with the Arizona Department of Corrections in Florence. He was a past president of the Arizona Law Enforcement Rodeo Association and enjoyed fishing. Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Groves of Florence; a sister, Anne Hodge of Valley Farms; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, and a son, Michael.
