Bonnie Ketcham passed away Dec. 22, 2008, following a lengthy illness. Bonnie was born on June 29, 1927, in Phoenix and grew up on a small farm outside of Goodyear, Ariz. She was the Buckeye High School class valedictorian in 1944.

Following high school, Bonnie enlisted in the WAVES and was stationed in Norfolk, Va. She was fortunate enough to be among the throngs in New York City's Times Square V-Day celebrations following the Japanese surrender in WWII. After the war, she returned to Arizona, where she married and raised a family of five in Goodyear. In addition to raising her family, she became employed in the early phases of the computer industry, rising to the position of senior data analyst for Allied Signal/Garrett Industries. Upon her retirement in 1989, Bonnie and her husband permanently relocated to their second home in Show Low, Ariz., where they spent their time gardening and entertaining the many visitors who enjoyed their mountain hideaway with them. In 2003, they moved to Prescott to be closer to family. Bonnie loved to spend her spare time sewing and donating baby quilts to others.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bob Ketcham; daughters Vicky Turner (Mike) of Glendale and Kay Colgan (Denny) of Prescott; sons Mike Ketcham (Andy) of Goodyear, and Rick and Randy Ketcham of Prescott; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Charlotte Tamillo and Jean Stewart-Ruth of Prescott, and Beverly Francis of Washington; and brothers Bill Wootton of Prescott, Tom Wootton of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ted Wootton of Claremont, Calif.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff and residents of the Peridot Retirement facility for their concerns and assistance, and a special thanks to the caring and compassionate staff of the Hospice of the Pines in Prescott. They are the greatest!

Private family services will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Hospice of the Pines.

The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Please go to www.hamptonfuneralhome.com to sign the guestbook for Bonnie and leave her family a message.
