Euell F. Carpenter

Euell F. Carpenter, 88, of West Plains, Mo., and formerly of Prescott, Ariz., died Dec. 13, 2008, at West Vue Nursing Home in West Plains. He was born June 11, 1920, to William and Cora Carpenter in Lafe, Ark.

Mr. Carpenter retired from Carnation Can Division in Mt. Vernon, Mo., in 1977 and served in the U.S. Army and CCC Corps. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include daughter Sharon Banning and husband Don of West Plains, Mo.; two granddaughters, Jennifer VanOrden and husband Kurt of Draper, Utah, and Michele Kruse and husband Brad of Willow Springs, Mo.; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mae Dalton of Campbell, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary E. Carpenter; two brothers, Olin Carpenter and Everett Carpenter; and two sisters, Thelma Eagan and Velma Smith.

Private burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell, Mo.
