Barbara Ann (Schneider) Pendergrass

Barbara Ann Pendergrass was born in Washington, D.C., on June 8, 1940, to Anna Bernice Tearney and Thomas Franklin Schneider Jr. She died on Dec. 11, 2008, in Phoenix, Ariz., at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital.

Barbara grew up in Washington, D.C., and La Jolla, Calif. She graduated from La Jolla High School and studied at The University of Arizona in Tucson. While attending college, she met and married John E. Pendergrass in 1959.

In 1960, their first daughter, Kelli Ann, was born, followed by Anna Marie in 1965 and Cheryl Rae in 1969. The family moved to Prescott in 1973. Barbara owned a catering business and a local coffee shop, through which she acquired numerous lifelong friends.

Barbara was generous to all, always putting everyone else's needs before her own. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, John E. Pendergrass; daughters Kelli Andrews, Anna (Mike) Peninger and Cheryl (Ian) Pendergrass; grandchildren Dillon Thomas Andrews, Ryan James Andrews, Elisabeth Ellery Pendergrass and Owen Robert Pendergrass; and brothers James Edward Schneider and Thomas Franklin Schneider.

A memorial will be 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at the Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez St., followed by a gathering for friends and family at the Prescott Resort.

Barbara Ann Pendergrass, 68, born June 8, 1940, in Washington, D.C., passed away Dec. 11, 2008, in Phoenix, Ariz., at the Banner Samaritan Hospital.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at the Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez St., Prescott, Ariz.
