Eleanor (Ellie) G. Jacobs

Oct. 4, 1931 - Dec. 13, 2008

Ellie was born in Boston, Mass., and moved to Prescott 18 years ago.

She is survived by husband Samuel Jacobs; two sons; a daughter; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She passed peacefully without pain in her sleep after a long battle with cancer. A devoted wife and loving mother, she was married 57 years.

Ellie was a woman who loved and gave 100 percent to her family and her community. Her only wish was "to leave a hole left in the world where she had been because she had made a difference." From Proverbs 31, "Charm is deceptive and beauty short-lived, but a woman loyal to God has truly earned praise."

She was a Realtor with Red Arrow Real Estate and a total career of 28 years. Her earned designations included ABR, CRS, GRI, LTC and PMN. During her career she was an associate member of the Prescott Chamber of Commerce; past president and life member of local chapters of Hadassah; past president of Congregation Sisterhood; Sunday school teacher for seven years; participant in marches for Alzheimer's, Mothers March on Birth Defects, and the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society; Meals on Wheels; the Southwestern Artists Association; member of the Symphony Guild of Prescott; and patron of arts locally.

Rabbi William Berkowitz will conduct a brief memorial service at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at Temple B'rith Shalom, 2077 Brohner Way in Prescott, Ariz.

We would like to thank all of the staff of the YRMC Hospice for their help and support.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ellie's memory to Yavapai Regional Medical Center Hospice, 3262 N. Windsong Dr., Prescott Valley, AZ 86314.

The Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
