Sandra Strong

Sandra Strong was born in Phoenix on Feb. 2, 1946. She graduated from North High School in Phoenix in 1964. She then worked at Motorola and also co-owned a nightclub in the Phoenix area.

In the late 1960s Sandra moved to Cottonwood where she worked at PenMor. In the early 1970s she owned and operated the "Pizza Shed" with the late Mary Nickerson. Later in the 1970s, Sandra moved to Jerome and worked at the Library Restaurant and later joined the newly founded Jerome Instrument Corporation as their Production Manager,making mercury detection instruments. She attended Yavapai College in the late 1980s, becoming very active in student government. Sandra was a multi-talented person, making her own creative jewelry as well as casting for other artists. She later went on to become a certified caregiver who specialized in Hospice care.

She was much loved by her many clients in the Verde Valley and Phoenix area. In 2001, Sandra returned to Peoria to care for her mother. Sandra leaves behind many loving friends and family members in Phoenix and the Verde Valley. She will always be remembered for her loving kindness and caring for both animals and humanity. There will be a "Celebration of Life" gathering at the Fire Station in Jerome on Jan. 25, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
