George Penn, 86, of Cottonwood, Ariz., died Dec. 13. He was born June 13, 1922 in Globe, Ariz., the son of Ed and Ethel Penn.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, receiving two Bronze Stars.

He was employed as a lithographer. He loved nature, loved animals, painting and other numerous hobbies. He is remembered as a quiet, kind gentleman and as loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Georgia Schubert and a grandson, Jason Totten. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Irene Penn; a daughter, Sandra Butler (Steve) of Chino Hills, California; a sister, Charlotte Pownell of Washington; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held by the family.
