| The Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Wednesday, December 17, 2008 George Penn, 86, of Cottonwood, Ariz., died Dec. 13. He was born June 13, 1922 in Globe, Ariz., the son of Ed and Ethel Penn. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, receiving two Bronze Stars. He was employed as a lithographer. He loved nature, loved animals, painting and other numerous hobbies. He is remembered as a quiet, kind gentleman and as loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Georgia Schubert and a grandson, Jason Totten. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Irene Penn; a daughter, Sandra Butler (Steve) of Chino Hills, California; a sister, Charlotte Pownell of Washington; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Private services will be held by the family. Donations in his memory may be made to Emmanuel Fellowship, 1580 E. Fir St., Cottonwood, Ariz., 86326. |
