Jeanette B. (Bourdon) Bright

Jeanette B. Bright passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2000, in Bullhead City, Arizona. She was the daughter of Martha Ralph Bourdon and Charles Nelson Bourdon and she was born June 12, 1902, in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota.

In 1925, she married Sherman D. Cox of Knoxville. Mr. Cox passed away in 1948.

The couple’s three surviving children include Nancy Kirkpatrick Wright of Prescott, Ariz., John Bourdon Cox of Sharps Chapel, Tenn., and Janis Cox Heath of Bullhead City. Grandchildren include, Ann Kirkpatrick, Kerry Kirkpatrick and Robert Kirkpatrick of Arizona, Karen Thompson, Steve Cox and Randy Cox of Tennessee, and David Heath and Corey Heath of Arizona. She also had three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bright moved to Arizona in 1949 and worked as a security officer for the U.S. Air Force until her retirement. In 1963, she married William S. Bright, a Scottsdale, Ariz., jeweler. Mr. Bright passed away in 1991.

During her retirement, Mrs. Bright was honored numerous times for her volunteer work with civic organizations. She served as president of a Phoenix area Republican Women's Club, as well as president of the League of Business and Professional Women. She was also active in the Phoenix Women's Club.

The family will celebrate Jeanette Bright's life in private memorial services.
