Gordon Dale Afman, 58, of Mesa Arizona, left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior on June 17, 2002. He was born on September 4, 1943 in Denver, Colorado. His family moved to California in the 1950's. He married Sherrilyn Van Boven in 1966. They moved to Arizona in 1978. He was in the aluminum business for over 30 years.

He loved fishing, hunting and was an avid Diamondbacks fan. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sherri Afman, three children, son Craig of Mesa, daughters Christine Bonngard (Doug) of Gilbert and Carrie Regimballe (Richard) of Mesa, four grandchildren, Jordyn and Collin Bonngard, Katelyn Schrudder and Valerie Regimballe. He also leaves behind his sister Lori Schoneveld of Linden, WA, and brother Allen of Mesa.

Visitation at Falconer Funeral home located at 251 W. Juniper Ave in Gilbert. A memorial service was held at Word of Grace Church in the Activity Center at 655 E. University Drive in Mesa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sunshine Acres Children's Home, 3405 N. Higley Rd, Mesa, AZ 85215 in his memory. Published in The Arizona Republic 23 June 2002.
