The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona July 20 - 21, 2003 John Christopher Simkins Beatty, was born in Woodbury, N.J. on April 10, 1951 to Dorothy Weisenbach and William Simkins, passed away on July 19, 2003 as a result of Melanoma Cancer. He grew up in Florida and moved to Arizona in 1980. He is survived by his wife Alice Courtois Beatty, Sons Ryan, David, Jason Beatty, step children Troy and Tami Courtois, grandchildren Shelby, Shay, Payton, sister and brother-in-law Judy and Brian Ross, niece and nephew Dawn and Chad Taylor, brother, Billy Simkins. Chris is remembered as an unconditional loving father and husband, friend, uncle, and Papa. To know him was to love him. The role he enjoyed most in life was that of being a father and dedicated husband. He loved camping, vehicle off roading with his boys and hiking Arizona trails. He had a passion for his work as an ASE Certified Master Automobile Technician and excelled in his field for over 30 years. One favorite saying of his was "change your oil". He enjoyed sailing around Florida where he grew up and sailing to the Bahamas and South America. Chris was well educated and had a vast knowledge of many subjects, including music, arts, and psychology. He had a large circle of friends from the east coast to the west which included his in-laws and x-in-laws and he exemplified the expression to have a friend you must be a friend. Chris was a spiritual positive person who did only good in this world. He believed that those who live in the Lord never see each other for the last time and he didn't go home alone for part of us who knew and loved him went with him as God called him home.
