The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, July 20, 2003 Kathryn Doom Everett, 96, born Sept. 14, 1906 to Dr. James & Zella Wilson in Sumner, Mississippi died Thursday, July 17, 2003. Survived by two daughters, Virginia Rose Peters of Peoria and Pegi Cantrell of Ft. Worth, Texas, Six grandchildren Robin (Mary Ann) Peters out of state, Iris (Tim) Poling of Peoria; Kathy (Jerry) Merritt of Mustang, Oklahoma; Sue Cherry of Glendale, Arizona; Candi Kynard of Fort Worth and Wendi (TJ) Mears of Orlando, Florida, 18 great grandchildren, those in Phoenix area Johnny, Craig, & Jason Cherry; Tina (Chad) Segersten; and Dawn (Brandon) Scott. Others are Lori (Rob) Veloz of Edwards AFB, California; Dr. Caroline (Robb) Schiermeyer, Gary (Kristi) Merritt, and Jessica Merritt of Oklahoma City, OK., Kerri (Brad) Williams and Ryan Kynard of Ft. Worth & Brian Mears of California. Others living out of state are Robbie Peters, Billie Jo Peters, Tracy (Chuck) Linkes, Tammy Peters and Bobbie Peters, 22 Great Great Grandchildren. Local great great grands are Branson and Brenna Scott, Rylee & Emma Segersten, Julianna and Destiny Cherry, and Robbie & Bryce Veloz. Other precious great great grands are in Texas, Arizona, and California. She lost two brothers several years ago but is survived by Robin (Jane) Wilson of Clarksdale, Mississippi. Arnold Doom was Sales Director of Youngtown and Kathryn sold Real Estate & after Arnold's death in 1963, she was broker of Doom Realty. Herbert Everett died in 1990. She was the last Charter Member of 1st Baptist Church of Sun City and was very active until a few years ago. She was Past President of Soroptimist and a 58 yr member of Laurel Chapter #30, Order of Eastern Star. She was much loved, respected and admired by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Visitation Mon. July 21st at 6:00pm with Services at 7:00pm, 1st Baptist Church of Sun City, N. 111th Ave and Peoria. |
