Penney Company and was transferred to Glendale, Ariz., El Centro, Calif., and promoted to manager in 1962. In 1962, HI was transferred to Kingman to manage the J.C. Penney store on Beale Street.

HI became a community leader within the small Kingman community by joining the Elks, Rotary, Shriners and Masons. In 1980, HI joined the Board of Directors of the Kingman Regional Medical Center where he and a small group of Kingman residents did wonderful work for the community of Kingman.

In 1989, HI retired from the J.C. Penney Company and devoted himself to community work and the work of the Kingman Regional Medical Center.
