Jess B. Fisher, age 84, passed away Oct. 7 in Harlingen, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (Oct. 18) at 10 a.m. at Wickenburg Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jess was born April 25, 1924 in Wagoner, Okla., to Eugene Fisher and Martha Densmore Fisher.

He came to Arizona in 1941 at the age of 17 and soon after got his commercial driver’s license and began working for C.T.I. near Flagstaff at the Navajo Army Depot. He worked for CTI for more than 48 years. After retiring, he moved to Salome, moving to Phoenix in 2001, and as of late South Padre Island, Texas. He was a member of Club Padre and the Spirit Club. He enjoyed the beach and fishing and loved to travel.

He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Fisher on June 17, 1998.

Jess is survived by his wife Christine Fisher of Port Isabel, Texas; and children Jerri Izzo and her husband Gabe of Blythe, Calif.; Gene Fisher and his wife Lori of Poston, Ariz.; step-daughter Tiffany Toporeck and husband Tony of Phoneix; step-son Tony Jones and wife Margo of Scottsdale; sisters Barbara Erwin (Bill) of Wataka, Texas; Wilma Morrison (Jack) of Red Bluff, Calif.; Martha Jean Lewis (Sheldon) of Redding, Calif.; Virginia Blankenship of Bristow, Okla.; grandchildren Tracy Izzo (Liz), Jess Izzo (Sandy), Marty Fisher, Stephanie Bohanon (Stan); step-grandchildren Kaitlin Jones, Megan Jones, Tyler Jones, Joshua Jones, and Jackson Toporeck; and great grandchildren Stacy, Justin, T.J., Emily, and Tyson.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home & Crematory.
