Genevie Gloria Cheesbro, age 79, passed away Oct. 12. She was born Dec.31, 1928 in Adrian, Mich., to Archie and Lila Butler.

She graduated from high school in 1946 at Sand Creek, Mich. She married Eldon “Sandy” Cheesbro Dec. 7, 1946 in Hudson, Mich. They moved to Warren, Ohio, in the 1950s where she worked as a medical assistant.

She and Eldon moved to Arizona some 30 years ago settling in Circle City. She was very active in the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed reading. She loved to play cards and often played with friends on a regular basis.

Genevie is preceded in death by her husband Eldon and daughter Sandra, mother Lila, father Archie, brother Eugene and sisters Lila, Delores and June.

She is survived by son Eldon E. Cheesbro (Debbie) of Congress, daughter Karen Chiarella (Anthony), son-in-law Jerry Merten of Circle City, 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, sisters MaryLou Collar, Jane Moore, Dorothea Kreighbaum and Nancy Van Neiuwenzhe, brother Bill Butler and several nieces and nephews and friends.

She was loved deeply and will be missed by her family and many friends.

Memorial contributions may be made in Genevie’s memory to Hospice of the Valley, 10323 W. Olive Ave. Peoria, AZ 85345. No formal services are planned per her request and she will be laid to rest by scattering at sea near her husband Eldon.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home.
