Albert Lee (Mac) McMillin

Albert “Mac” McMillin, age 91, passed away Nov. 27 in Congress.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday (Dec. 6) at 2 p.m. at
Congress Cemetery with Pastor Bob Harrison officiating.

Mr. McMillin was born March 17, 1917 in Bolton, Kan., to Millard
McMillin and Edna Griffith McMillin. He was raised in Kildare, Okla.,
worked on the family farm and graduated from high school there in
Kildare. He later served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War
II, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant.

He married Martha Hearn on Jan. 10, 1942. Following his military
service he returned to Glendale, Ariz., where he attended
refrigeration school. In 1947 he and Martha moved to Congress, where
he established McMillin Refrigeration, and Martha opened Martha’s
Lunch Diner. He worked in the family business for more than 40 years
with three generations operating the business that still continues
today as McMillin Air.

Mr. McMillin was very active in the community, always involved with
Old Congress Days. He served on the Congress Water Board as well as
the school board.

He was preceded in death by his wife Martha L. McMillin on Aug. 25,
1997, and brothers Howard and Claude McMillin. He is survived by son
Ron McMillin of Peeples Valley and son and daughter-in-law Rick and
Betty McMillin of Congress; a sister Helen Foxworthy of Derby, Kans.;
grandchildren Melody Hines and Laura Luft both of Ft. Worth, Texas;
John McMillin of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and Jason McMillin and Erin
Etaii both of Congress; great-grandchilden Samantha, Austin, Rebecca,
Dakota, Amanda, Nick, Avery, Gracie, Kelsey, Ayden, Campbell, and
Molly; two great-great-grandchildren Emma and Ethan; And nephews Joe
Clark of Congress and Howard McMillin, Jr. of Tempe.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home &
Crematory.
