Mary F. Renaud, age 91, passed away at home in Congress, Ariz. Funeral services were held on Saturday (Dec. 13) at 11 a.m. at Wickenburg Funeral Home with Fr. Joseph Supa as celebrant.

Interment followed in the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery.

She was born May 29, 1917 in Chicago, Ill., to Peter La Rosa and Rosaria Palonia. She was raised in Howell, Mich., and attended schools there. She later married John Renaud July 4, 1934 in Howell and they made their home and raised a family there. In 1960 the family moved to Shelter Bay where they operated a “mom-and-pop” gas station and grocery store. They moved to New York in 1967, settling in Glen Falls.

John passed away in 1985, and Mary and her daughters came to Arizona, settling in Congress in 1998.

She was a member of Good Shepherd of the Desert Catholic Church in Congress and enjoyed her crafts and sewing.

She was preceded in death by husband John in 1985, a son Peter in 1994, and a grandson Mark in 2003. She is survived by children James of Marquette, Mich.; Jerry, Rosemary and Jeanne of Congress; a brother John La Rosa of Lake Worth, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made in Mary’s memory to Hospice of the Pines, 13175 E. Hwy 169, Dewey, AZ 86327.

A memorial mass will be held at a later date in Congess.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home.
