| Bette Arleen Merrill, 79, died Sept. 30, 2006 at home. The graveside service was held at 11 a.m. today in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix. Ms. Merrill was born Dec. 16, 1926 in Cleveland to John C. and Martha V. (Lau) Seigmund. She was a homemaker who was devoted to her family and enjoyed pet sitting and genealogy. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include a son, Christopher Merrill of Tempe; two daughters, Patricia Davis of Arizona City and Gail Lawson of Casa Grande; a brother, Robert Seigmund of Sandusky, Ohio; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
