Leo Palewich, Jr., 83 years, passed away on February 6, 2003, at his home in Tempe, AZ. He was born in Lovington, Illinois, to his parents Leo and Amelia Palewicz. He grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and joined the Merchant Marines in 1943, serving in the World War II task force as a Chief Marine Engineer, achieving the rank of Lt. Commander. After his service, he returned to Chicago and became a real estate developer, along with other business endeavors, including oil exploration.

In 1967 he married his wife, Lola, and moved to Las Vegas, NV, and eventually Tempe, AZ, to continue his real estate development and sales. He is preceded in death by his wife Lola, and his sister Helen. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Weatherford, Gilbert, AZ, and his sister, Florence, of Tempe, AZ. Leo was an honest, strong and hardworking man, and was an incredible father, brother and husband. He will be greatly missed and will forever remain in our hearts.

Visitation and Services were held at the Bunker Family Garden Chapel, Mesa, AZ. Published in the Arizona Republic on 2/9/2003.
