The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/14/2012 Wendell Ryan Palmer, 62, lifetime resident of Eagar died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012. He was born May 18, 1949 to Shirley Joyce Winsor and John Kelsey Palmer. He loved this land and all of the people in it. He found beauty and value in everything from a walk on the mountain, elk horns lost in the brush, and yes, even lifeless critters on the side of the road. He shared many a hunt with many, many good friends. From his rowdy, wild youth to his more sedate, at least tamer, middle age, Ryan embraced life. His favorite times were spent discovering every inch of his front yard of Pat Knoll and his backyard of Escudilla. He is survived by his daughter, Stormy Lynn; and grandson Jakob Ryan of Springerville; father John K. Palmer of Eagar; sister Stacey (Charles) Wiltbank of Gilbert; brother Lee (Monica) Palmer of Springerville; and his loving fiancé and life mate Jane Parkes of Eagar; daughters Jennifer of Bullhead City, Joanna of Las Vegas, Nev.; and son Kevin, Bullhead City; as well as his endeared aunts: June (J.V.) Pace, Ann Moots, and Marla (D’Wayne) Sherwood; and many cousins, nephews and niece. With his passing, he reunites with his dear mother Joyce, aunt Valdine and grandparents Rainey and Shirley, Allene and Robert. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb 18, 2012 at the Eagar Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burnham Mortuary of Eagar handled arrangements.
