The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, January 20, 2009 Our dear life partner, brother, friend and work associate passed to the next life on Jan. 2, 2009. He was born Feb. 27, 1942, in Waukegan, Ill., Richard Paul Lavendoski, the only child of parents Gerald and Frances Lavendoski. Gerald was a 1944 WWII U.S. Army casualty; Frances passed away in Prescott in 1998. In the 1960s, Rich served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman in both stateside and forward Vietnam Naval and Marine Corps units. Upon discharge, he completed training as a licensed respiratory therapist and resided in San Diego, Calif. He moved to Arizona in 1980. His interests included exploring the Southwest, sailing and horsemanship. He was an avid marksman, reader and a successful gardener. Employed for the last 25 years at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, he loved working with his medical teammates and patients and was well-loved by them in return. Nancy was one of Rich's best friends over the last 10 years and she has adopted his beloved part-Dingo, "Biscuit." He will be missed by his cousin Van Vogel and family of Wonder Lake, Ill., and many other close friends and relatives in Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, Illinois and Wisconsin. A celebration of life will be 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at Yavapai Regional Medial Center west campus cafeteria. Information provided by survivors. |
